He was sick and hopeless until the Jesus Well came

Laul's days relentlessly passed by as his illness stole away his livelihood and plunged his family into poverty.

Digging a Well: Uprooting Discouragement

When Laul got sick with a waterborne illness, typhoid fever, he lost his livelihood and couldn't provide for his five kids. He even sold everything he owned. But none of the doctors he visited could heal him. None of the treatments he underwent helped. Nothing he did could bring him back to good health. Laul even rejected anyone praying for him.

Then their village received a Jesus Well that provided them with fresh, clean water—and it changed Laul's life in more ways than one.

World Water Day - March 22
In the last three years, GFA and its affiliates have installed more than 18,500 Jesus Wells, which can provide clean water for more than 5.5 million people for many years. But the need is even greater.

A Jesus Well costs $1,400 and serves an average of 300 people. That means as little as $5 can be enough to provide one person with water for 20 years! With your help, we can keep installing wells to provide continuous clean water for those in need.

Clean Water Impacts Ramila, Her Three Children and Her Entire Village

Clean Water for an Entire Village

"We were not able to maintain proper cleanliness due to water scarcity, but after this well was installed in our village, my children could take a bath every day. It was not only me who faced a water problem, but the entire village. I express my thanks to the people who provided this water source."
—Ramila

Giving a Jesus Well Was a Privilege for Hank

A Jesus Well for Hank

"I've seen and read so many stories of the daily trials people go through. . . Hours of every day spent hauling water that often is so dirty it makes the people ill. This just shouldn't be. It's heartbreaking. ... I know [the Lord] would like to see everyone have something as basic as clean water, so a [Jesus Well] seemed a good thing."

This couple visited a slum and they were stunned by what they saw

Take a journey with Amber as she tells of her recent visit to the slums...
News and Feature Articles from the Field

A couple on staff with Gospel for Asia had the opportunity to travel to the mission field and visit one of the largest slums in Asia. While they were there, they saw how important health and hygiene awareness is to those living in poor conditions.

"It's stunning to hear some of the myths and misunderstandings in regards to health," Amber says. "For example, because cow dung is considered to be holy, it is used to treat all kinds of injuries and diseases—and even applied to a newborn's umbilical cord..."

Vanessa and Briggs’ Triathlon for Bicycles for Missionaries

Vanessa and Briggs

Last year, Vanessa and her son, Briggs, did a triathlon to raise $1,000 for national missionaries through their myGFA campaign. This year, they are doing another myGFA campaign—and they're doubling their goal. They want to raise $2,000 for bicycles!

"Briggs and I feel led to give this year's donations to purchasing bicycles for the local missionaries," Vanessa says. "This will give them reliable and more efficient transportation..."
