Breaking Generational Poverty with a Needle and Thread

Nalah grew up watching his father work hard in the tea fields. He saw the desperate poverty all the tea workers endured. Despite his challenging childhood, Nalah grew up and became the father of four children. They needed to get an education—but Nalah was too poor to even meet their basic needs. He sank into depression.

But just as life was spiraling downward, Nalah met a servant of God who listened to his sad story, and everything began to change.

Field Report: Abandoned Woman Receives a Gift

Abandoned Woman Receives a Gift

Saci was still carrying their first son in her womb when her husband left her—again. It was the second time he abandoned her, and now Saci had to raise their daughter and new baby boy as a single parent. In their culture, she was considered a widow. She was forced to live with her parents and had to provide for the entire household—on her own. Saci worked as a house maid in several homes, but all her domestic labor didn't earn her much.

But on International Widows Day, GFA-supported Women's Fellowship ladies gave Saci a gift that changed her life.

6-year-old Kalea's myGFA Campaign for Clean Water

myGFA Campaign for Clean Water

"Kids get sick, hurt, die, and miss school because clean drinking water is not easy for them to get," Kalea says. "Supporting Jesus wells helps people in Asia get clean drinking water through the local church and hopefully learn about Jesus' love for them. I am selling paintings, hand painted cards, and asking for donations to reach my goal. Please consider helping me help people in Asia."
